Is there a cost to attend this school?
No. Libertas Academy, Colleton is a tuition-free public charter school open to all students in South Carolina. Libertas Academy will never charge tuition.
Are students required to live in Colleton County to attend?
No. All age-appropriate residents of South Carolina may attend Libertas Academy, no matter where they live in the state.
Where can we learn more about the Curricula that will be used?
Libertas Academy will use Core Knowledge, Eureka Math, and Core Virtues as our curriculum providers. Core Knowledge includes a health component.

Will the students wear uniforms?
Yes. Our students wear school uniforms that are available for purchase at the school. Our uniforms are cost effective and durable. Our students can leave behind the worry and stress of what they are wearing each day and simply focus and enjoy learning and playing with their friends!
What grades are available at Libertas Academy Colleton?
Libertas Academy, Colleton will first open for the 2025-26 school year serving grades 4K through 4th. Libertas Academy will add one grade each year until we fully serve grades 4K-8th.
Does Libertas Academy Colleton have sister schools across the state?
Yes - we have three sister schools across South Carolina. The first being Libertas Academy - Boiling Springs. The second is Greenwood Charter Academy and finally Cherokee Charter Academy, which is currently the top-performing public school in Cherokee County. We plan to bring that same level of success to Colleton County.
How do I enroll my student(s)?
Open enrollment for the 2025-26 school year begins on February 3, 2025. Enrollment will remain open until March 15, 2025. After that date, all applicants will be entered into a lottery system. Lottery results will be shared shortly after, and families will receive notifications by March 30, 2025 regarding their child's placement.
Our 4K program is brought to you in partnership with SC First Steps 4K. Parents who register with Libertas Academy Colleton also need to register at www.Free4KSC.org and click "unknown" for site.
Will the school provide transportation?
YES! Our school provides bus options serving communities with group stops. The bus service are provided at no charge.
Does the school have a mascot and school colors?
Yes. We are the Patriots and our colors are red, white, and blue. GO PATRIOTS!
