Libertas Academy is proud to announce an exciting partnership with Faith Church to serve as the school’s location for its inaugural 2025-2026 school year. This collaboration ensures students and families have access to a welcoming and vibrant learning environment while the construction of Libertas Academy’s state-of-the-art permanent campus is underway. The new campus is set to open for the 2026-2027 school year.
The year one address of Libertas Academy Colleton will be: 858 Bells Hwy, Walterboro, SC 29488.
Faith Church, known for its strong community support and its commitment to the development of local youth, provides the ideal temporary setting for Libertas Academy to begin its journey of academic excellence. The partnership will allow the school to fully implement its mission of empowering students to achieve their highest potential in a space that aligns with its values.
“We’re so excited for our community,” shared Pastor Daryl Hunt of Faith Church. “This partnership is a wonderful opportunity for the children of Colleton County. We are grateful to support Libertas Academy and proud to play a role in serving these young people and their families. It’s truly a win-win for all of us.”
Libertas Academy Colleton will be built upon the same successful model as Libertas Academy in Boiling Springs (LABSA) in Spartanburg County. After only their first school year, the Charter Institute at Erskine awarded LABSA with the Culture of Excellence Award for achieving an “Excellent” rating on the School Climate indicator in the 2024 school report card. The school also earned the Year One Trailblazer Award, a distinction given to a charter school demonstrating exceptional accomplishments and innovative practices in its first year.
LABSA also received its inaugural school report card rating of "Good," the second-highest rating possible, further affirming the school’s commitment to academic excellence and growth. In addition to receiving a “Good” rating, Libertas Academy’s middle school students ranked in the top 10% statewide for English/Language Arts scores and in the top 25% for math scores. These results further emphasize the school’s commitment to academic success from the outset.
Keith Coones, Board Chair of Libertas Academy, shared his excitement about the partnership. “Our collaboration with Faith Church underscores our commitment to fostering strong community relationships and providing the best possible environment for our students. We are confident this partnership will set the stage for a bright future as we build our permanent home. We are confident that Libertas Academy in Colleton County will have similar successes as the Libertas Academy in Boiling Springs.”
