Calling all dynamic and innovative educators - are you ready to lead Colleton County's first public charter school, make history, and a have positive impact in the Lowcountry? If so, please consider applying for the school director position at Libertas Academy Colleton. Question: How is a school director different than a principal? Answer: At our school, the school director is the overall leader of the school, compared to a principal who often times has a primarily academic focus. The school director reports directly to the Libertas Academy Board of Directors and will be responsible for everything from budget creation and execution, to community engagement, staff and student recruitment/retention, compliance, and more. Opening in the fall of 2025, Libertas Academy Colleton will be the first ever, tuition-free, public charter school in Colleton County. In year one, we will serve grades 4K-6th, adding one grade per year, until we eventually serve grades 4K-8. We have three sister schools across South Carolina. The first being Libertas Academy Boiling Springs. The second is Greenwood Charter Academy and finally Cherokee Charter Academy, which is currently the top-performing public school in Cherokee County. We plan to bring that same level of success to Colleton County.
